| Try to remember, that time in September. . . .
I must have blinked. The calendar is now showing October. | comments: Leave a comment |

| Two thousand, six hundred and sixty eight ISBNs either typed or scanned. Using the Readerware program, I know have more than 2600 paperback novels in my database.
Now to figure out how to load them into an Ipod Touch. (files lite seems to be doing the trick).
Next, the hardcovers. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

| Last week as I was walking I noticed a spider hanging motionless in midair about chest level. Normally I would suspect it was hanging on a thread of spider silk. However, I encountered this situation in the middle of a parking lot with nothing but sky overhead. I walked around it, and it was just hanging there. I passed my hand half a metre above it and it slowly floated in the direction of my hand. It seemed to wake up and rappelled down to the ground.
I think this mode of travel is called ballooning. The spider spins a long thread into the air and eventually gets carried away on the wind. Except when the wind keeps it one place, I guess. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| I found my kitchen floor.
However, I seem to have lost my living room floor. | comments: Leave a comment |
| I arrive at work at 09:00 today, plenty of time to get ready for a 10:00 meeting. A few minutes later I get a call wondering where I was since the meeting had started. Oh well, thinks I, somebody seems to have gotten the meeting time wrong or they forgot to tell me that they had changed when we were to meet.
I find out at the meeting that everyone else believed that it was past ten while my watch was showing just past nine. Jokes were made about me being on B.C. time. After the meeting a thought occurred to me that there was one possibility about why my watch was behind an hour. After making inquiries, I determined that yes, the shift to daylight savings time had occurred last weekend.

| I received an email from a friend in Australia. She was mentioning things like 45.2 degrees celsius. I almost put a minus sign in front of that number (actually, I did put a minus sign there and had to go back and erase it). So I told her about waking up to minus 36 last Monday and getting up to plus 2 the next day.
45.2 degrees, eh? I guess those Australians like their women hot!
By the way: Happy New Year, Everybody!
All adults can add one to their age as of January 1. And I congratulate all my readers on another successful trip around the sun. | comments: Leave a comment |
| | Minus thirty six Celcius this morning, and the Fit started with only minor grumpiness. The first few minutes of driving went bumpity-bump as the tires were still frozen in the parked position. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Started tidying and gathering the loose Lego together in order to begin the sorting process. Only a few dozen kilograms to process. . . .
Annoying how the tidying process makes it more difficult to move around the place. | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| | I am now the owner of a Ford Fit. It is very much like the Honda Fit, except that I could have it in any colour I wanted. As long as it was black. Thus ends over a month of being without wheels. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| After awakening from sleeping the sleep of the innocent this morning, I glanced into the hallway mirror. I was wearing black sweat pants and a bright orange sweatshirt. I then remembered that today is Hallow'een.
I wonder if it's because I turn into a pumpkin at midnight. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Still without a car. Has anyone noticed that the world economy has been misbehaving ever since I lost my wheels? Just wondering. | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |

| | Occasional clunks have been occurring in my 1998 Chevrolet Malibu. The first couple of times I checked, I did not spot the problem. Turning into my driveway, another sound was heard. Upon inspection, I found that there is some sort of helical contraption that is now touching the right tire. I am thinking that I broke a coil spring on my car's shock absorber. First the legs, then the wheels. I am starting to sense a conspiracy. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| So I wake up way too early this morning. Both knees having decided to have a swell time. No crawling for me, not being a fan of pain. So I proceeded from my bedroom downstairs to the kitchen upstairs on my back, dragging the legs behind me. Found drugs, found couch, and somehow managed to eventually fall to sleep. Woke up around eleven to find the swelling had gone down a bit. Found the crutches, which were downstairs in the storage bedroom, and regained mobility since the right leg can now support my weight.
Oh, I was suppose to be at work since there is a big event where the University recognizes employees with five, ten, fifteen, twenty and twenty-five years of service. Me, I should have been there with the ten year group. And I am missing out on the free food, dang nab it!
You know, it is much more convenient when only one knee is swollen. Like my left knee for the last seven days or so. Although the resulting cramps in the corresponding thigh, butt and back muscles are rather distracting.
Enough of that. Time to find more ibuprofen and have myself a nice mug of tea. | comments: Leave a comment |
